An unpublished original piece for solo piano by Juan Andrés Ospina.

The piece was initially composed in July 2015 for a documentary project that was never completed. The film explored a dark story involving corruption, environmental destruction, and the displacement of both communities and wildlife in a region of La Guajira, Colombia.

In May 2021, during the social uprising in Bogotá, I returned to the piece and completed it while recording at home, surrounded by the distant sound of massive protests and helicopters circling the area.

The result is a dark and dense piece that reflects a heavy emotional landscape — a music shaped by tension, uncertainty, and a rather unoptimistic atmosphere.

This downloadable edition includes the complete piano score.

An unpublished original ragtime for solo piano titled “Joplinesque” (Juan Andrés Ospina).

Composed in 2003 and inspired by the famous “Maple Leaf Rag” by Scott Joplin (1868–1917). The title is a play on words combining my initials JAO with the term “Joplinesque”, an invented way of describing something written in the style of Scott Joplin.

This downloadable edition includes the complete piano score.

The recording corresponds to a playback generated with Sibelius.
